Case Details

The Quality Assurance department was looking for a system to manage their ISO documents which are in various MS Office 2007 formats (Word, Excel and Power Point). They need to have a process in place where a person in their department can create a new document and check it into SharePoint 2007. They also need to check out an existing version and update it to a new minor version. In both of the scenarios, the document needs to have the footer replaced with a standard footer that includes the Major and the new Minor version numbers in it. Once a document is ready to be an official and used by the rest of the company, the person will then publish the document for approval. The approval workflow should work the same as the built in approval workflow and occur prior to the document being published. The change to the built in approval workflow is that after it has been approved, but before it is published the document needs to have its footer replaced, like the normal check in version above, and after it will convert the document to PDF.
